Gefallen gefunden an den Schwarzaugenbohnen (The Black Eyed Peas) hat die Klasse DHF1a. The Black Eyed Peas ist eine Alternative-Hip-Hop-Band aus Los Angeles, USA, welche seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1995 alle namhaften Musikauszeichnungen gewonnen hat (Grammy, MTV und World Music Awards). Am 18. Februar 2011 wurde die Pausenmusik von dieser Woche, Just Can't Get Enough, veröffentlicht. Das zugehörige Musikvideo wurde in Tokio nur eine Woche vor dem Tōhoku-Erdbeben gedreht und enthält eine Widmung an alle Menschen in Japan.

77 Bombay Street
Up in the Sky

Einheimisches Musikschaffen würdigt diese Woche die Klasse KB1b. Aber wer denkt bei diesem Song schon an eine neunköpfige Familie aus Basel? Aufgewachsen sind die vier Brüder von 77 Bombay Street in Basel. Im Jahr 2001 dann die grosse Veränderung – Umzug für zwei Jahre nach Australien, genauer gesagt Adelaide in der 77 Bombay Street. Eine bereichernde und sehr nachhaltige Zeit, wie sich im Jahr 2007 zeigen wird. Die vier Jungspunde gründen ihre Band – benannt nach der Adresse ihres alten Zuhauses in Down Under.

Die Musik von 77 Bombay Street steht für Spielfreude, Musikalität, Intensität und Authentizität. Schweizerisches Understatement gepaart mit australischem Wagemut – eine schweisstreibende, interessante und internationale Kombination mit viel Potential.

Unihockey-Night 2011

Auch dieses Schuljahr ladet die Fachschaft Sport wieder zur Sportnacht am 18. November 2011. Nachdem sich viele Teams in den beiden Vorjahren die Volleybälle um die Ohren gehauen haben, wird dieses Jahr der Unihockeyschläger geschwungen. Jedes Team besteht aus mindestens vier Lernenden/ Lehrpersonen (einem Torhüter/ einer Torhüterin und drei Feldspielern/Feldspielerinnen des KV Luzern), es können aber auch grössere Teams angemeldet werden, damit während der Spiele ausgewechselt werden kann. Zu jeder Zeit spielt mindestens eine weibliche Lernende/ Lehrperson pro Team, es kann also kein Team, auch nicht nur zeitweise,  ausschliesslich mit männlichen Lernenden spielen. Meldet euer Team bitte rechtzeitig bei den Sportlehrpersonen an. Der Anmeldeschluss ist Freitag, der 11. November 2011.

Californication

Die Red Hot Chili Peppers zählen mittlerweise wirklich zu den Dinosauriern im Musikgeschäft, die Herren um Frontmann Anthony Kiedis sind aber 28 Jahre nach ihrer Gründung auch im gesetzteren Alter immer noch gut im Schuss.

Der Titel «Californication» stammt aus dem Jahre 1999 und ist ein Portmanteau, d. h. ein Wort, das die Aus-sprache und Bedeutung zweier anderer Wörter kombiniert, in diesem Fall den US-Bundesstaat Kalifornien und das englische Wort für «Unzucht», fornication. Das Wortspiel entstand in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren, als in Oregon aufgrund des wachsenden Einflusses Kaliforniens auf den Autos Aufkleber mit der Aufschrift «Don't californicate Oregon» zu lesen waren.

Der melodiöse und motivierende Musikwunsch stammt übrigens von der Klasse KB1a.
