Requiem
Mozart komponierte das Requiem auf Bestellung. Im Frühsommer 1791 kam ein maskierter, in schwarz gekleideter Mann zu ihm, nannte weder seinen noch den Namen seines Auftraggebers und bestellte die Komposition. Dieser geheimnisvolle Auftritt, die dunkle Kleidung und die gewünschte Totenmesse hinterließen bei Mozart ein ungutes Gefühl. Nach Angaben seiner Frau, soll er geglaubt haben, er arbeite an seinem eigenen Requiem.
Der in der Tat etwas merkwürdige Auftritt des Boten hat dabei aber einen ziemlich banalen Hintergrund. Der Mann kam im Auftrag von Franz Graf von Walsegg-Stuppach, einem Musikliebhaber und dilettantischem Komponisten. Die Frau des Grafen war unlängst gestorben und Walsegg-Stuppach wollte ihr zu Ehren ein Requiem aufführen lassen. Des öfteren bestellte er bei anerkannten Komponisten Werke, die er dann unter eigenem Namen aufführen ließ. Aufgrund dieses geistigen Diebstahls wollte er unerkannt bleiben und lies seinen Boten anonym auftreten. Mozart wollte den Auftrag zuerst nicht annehmen, doch man bot ihm ein gutes Entgelt, das er in seiner finanziell misslichen Lage nicht ausschlagen konnte. Seine Frau Constanze schätze vor allem die Anzahlung und drängte ihren Mann zur Komposition.
Diese Totenmesse sollte Mozarts letzte Komposition sein. Und wurde eines seiner beeindruckendsten und auch bekanntesten Werke. Know my name
Nach Ruedi Rymann mit dem «Schacher Seppli» letzten November kommt diese Woche wieder ein Rhymann zum Zug. Die Stilrichtung ist zwar nicht ganz die gleiche, aber auch diese Musik stammt aus der Innerschweiz. Um genau zu sein, ist es wiederum wie vor drei Wochen ein Lernender von uns, der sich hinter dem Künstlernamen Rhymann versteckt. Der Tipp stammt übrigens von der Klasse KE6i …
Hier ein Auszug aus Rhymanns Facebook-Seite: «It was back in 2002 when I was about 10 that I started to be interested Hip Hop and it's history and culture. I started checking out and researching all kinds of Artists,...from XZIBIT, R.A.K.I.M , Gangstarr, Busta Rhymes, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Ludacris, Pharcyde all the way to Naughty By Nature and DMX.
Soon after I tried writing my own lyrics, often unintentionally just copying stuff from songs I was listening to. Hip Hop guided me thru my whole childhood and turned into a part of my life... Always practicing my flows and increasing my vocabulary by reading lyrics or browsing thru the dictionary my skills kept improving. Freestyling in the shower or while walking to work, I'm always thinking of rhyming words, it's probably what keeps my brain the busiest all day long..Now at the age of 19 I've recorded my first couple of tracks... Making music is something that keeps me motivated and I think that I can express my feelings and release my anger in no better way than rapping. For me it's the needed balance in a life that's filled with stress and the constant pressure to match everyone's expectations around you.
Now I'm taking it more serious than ever, going to the studio as much as I can and recording tracks and releasing them. But since the music industry isn't a cheap business I'll have to take one step at a time due to my financial situation as a 19-year old. That's about it... there will be plenty more to come so keep the name RHYMAN in your mind.»

Eminem (* 17. Oktober 1972 als Marshall Bruce Mathers III), ist laut Billboard-Magazin der erfolg-reichste Musiker des letzten Jahrzehnts. So sind seine Alben The Eminem Show und The Marshall Mathers LP das dritt- bzw. siebentbestverkaufte Album des Jahrzehnts. 1995 gab Eminem seinen bis dahin benutzten Künstlernamen „M & M“ auf, um namensrechtliche Probleme mit dem Hersteller der Süßigkeit M&M’s, zu vermeiden, und nannte sich Eminem. Der Name Eminem ergibt sich aus der Aussprache seiner Initialen „M & M“ (gesprochen: „M and M“, „M 'n' M“, „Em(i)nem“). Die Singles «I’m not afraid», von der Klasse KE1c gewünscht, behandelt ein ernstes Thema. Das Programm der Pausenmusik wird ja vor allem von den Klassen bestimmt. Diese Woche wünscht sich die Klasse DHF6h ein Lied, was an sich ja nichts Ausserordentliches ist. Speziell ist, dass dieser Song von einem Mitglied der Klasse selber stammt. Es ist für uns deshalb eine doppelte Freude, nicht nur einheimisches sondern sogar schulinternes Schaffen zu würdigen und damit auch exemplarisch zu zeigen, dass die Talente der Lernenden wie auch Lehrpersonen unserer Schule sehr vielfältig sind.

Hazy Osterwald
Kriminal Tango
Mit seiner ersten eigenen Band eroberte Osterwald ab 1944 die Schweizer Jazzszene. 1949 gründete er sein legendäres Sextett, mit dem er während 30 Jahren die internationale Showszene prägte. Dem Zeitgeist immer einen Schritt voraus, wurde er zum eigentlichen Pionier der modernen Musik-Shows, indem er nicht nur auf der Bühne, sondern auch in Fernsehen und Film auftrat.
Bis Ende der 70er Jahre raste Osterwalds «Sextett» (später «Jetset») von Erfolg zu Erfolg und durch die ganze Welt, als eigenständige Band mit Hits wie «Kriminal Tango», «Gehn sie mit der Konjunktur» oder als Begleitorchester von Interpreten wie Udo Jürgens. Multiinstrumentalist Osterwald (Trompete, Piano, Vibraphon und Schlagzeug) zog dabei stilmässig sämtliche Register. (www.nzz.ch)
